When I took this photo in my back yard some time ago, I thought "cool", that's a pretty picture! Then it dawned on me that all I was doing was simply freezing an image in time that already existed.
God had already made the original, and all I was doing was just copying it. We tend to pride ourselves often, and pat ourselves on the back over our accomplishments, when in fact all we are doing is making a cheap copy. We pride ourselves so much, that certain paintings and pictures sell for thousands and even millions of dollars. However, I'm not completely sure that God is too impressed with our accomplishments. Even the Mona Lisa (also known as La Gioconda) painted by Leonardo da Vinci, is just a copy. God made the woman. We don't even know who she is, but God knows. When we paint a picture, we copy something that is familiar to us, like a tree. The mind blowing, amazing thing about this is, God created the tree, and he did it with no guideline to follow. He didn't copy it from anything, any place or anyone! Where there was nothing like it before, there now exists, a tree. (invented from scratch in his own mind) Now consider all the millions of species of plant and animal life, that were brought about by nothing other than the mind of God. Nothing was copied from anyone, but invented and created. Now consider further, the fact that none of these are mere images. Everything is alive and functional and proud as we are, we don't have a clue as to how they are made, and can't duplicate them. If one would argue that scientists can now clone people and animals, I would remind them that cloning is merely copying. Scientists still don't have a clue as to how life works or how to make it. The proof is, a scientist can not take a hand full of dirt, (the way God did) and make anything from it, except mud! And even if he could, it would not be an accomplishment, because it's God's dirt! God created it! Anything accomplished or formed would again, simply be a cheap imitation. We take allot of pride in the fact that we put a man on the moon. However, God made the moon! All we did was to manipulate the materials that God made, made a vehicle out of them, them visited a place that God invented, formed and created. Don't get me wrong, for us, that's quite an accomplishment. However, I doubt that God is that impressed. Look around you! What kind of a mind is capable of doing all that? It staggers the imagination. The next time you look at something beautiful, like a flower, a tree, a sunset, or even your spouse or children, it's my hope that you will have developed a new, or renewed appreciation for God. "He truly is awesome beyond our comprehension". Considering all of the above, the thing that blows me away the most, is the fact that such a super intelligent and powerful being, would even give us a second thought. The fact that he loves us, is almost incomprehensible, but "He Does". To me, "that" is the most amazing thing of all. God didn't use up all of his talent and creativity here. I'm willing to bet that heaven is going to be full of things we've never seen, and could never conceive of. (we'll see) GOD IS THE ARTIST! WE'RE JUST A XEROX MACHINE!
